Ozone Generator

Ozone is "active oxygen", nature's special element and a beautiful gift to mankind. Ozone is a triatomic allotrope of oxygen formed by recombination of oxygen atoms. It is a colourless gas with characteristic pungent odor and can easily be detected at low level of 0.05 ppm. It is a very strong oxidant and is over 3000 times more powerful disinfectant than chlorine. It disinfects, oxidizes, deodorizes and decolorizes.

Ozone is the fastest acting oxidizing disinfectant and the most efficient broad spectrum micro biological control agent commercially available. Being highly reactive and completely non-discriminating it immediately starts oxidizing anything it comes in contact with air. This makes Ozone a very powerful bactericide agent.

Ozone as unlike any other oxidizing agent leaves no toxic residues, thereby environment friendly, and helps in reducing pollution.

Ozone generation entails the splitting of a diatomic oxygen molecule into two highly excited oxygen atoms. These unstable oxygen atoms combine with other oxygen molecules to form the triatomic state of Oxygen, i.e. OZONE, Ozone concentration upto 3% in the air and upto 6% by weight in the oxygen feed can be efficiently achieved. In Ozone generators, the feed gas is passed through the ozoniser consisting of electrodes with a dielectrics. A high voltage is applied to get a corona discharge. This energizes the oxygen atoms, thereby converting a portion of oxygen in the gas stream into ozone. Ozone formed is highly unstable and cannot be stored.
